    FUTURE CHALLENGES OF THE CORRECTIONAL SYSTEM:
    • STAFF DIVERSITY AND RATIO TO A MULTICULTURAL PRISON POPULATION 
    • "Professional staff are critical to a successful correctional agency" and currently there appears to be a lack of diversity in the staff to inmate population ratio. With overcrowding, not having sufficient staff to cover the vast level of issues, concerns, and special populations is an absolute dire problem (Seiter, 2011).

    EFFECTIVENESS OF TREATMENT PROGRAMS
    • Rehabilitation programs are the foundation to solutions for the correctional system for at least the past 25 years

    • Mental Health is one major reentry program granted to parolees, probationers, and those preparing for release into recovery programs.
