"Expenditures at a cost greater than $68 billion per year" is the fact of the current budget concern for the correctional agencies facing challenges of tomorrow and with this kind of cash at stake seems as though this is an issue to get tackled for at least the next two to three decades unless massive integration of community-based reentry programs outweigh the way the justice administration piles in the lives for life sentences for nearly the past 40 years (Seiter, 2011).
